Recognizing the best financial services and private wealth management providers

The highly anticipated BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards 2016 (BWMA) are now open for entries! New for 2016, the Awards will be split into ‘Insurance’ and ‘Banking’ sectors. The decision to create a separate ‘Insurance’ Awards is to recognize those insurers who strive for best practice, whilst adding value for customers in the wealth management process.

Numerous studies and reports have shown how Millennials, whether wealthy or not, support products and companies that benefit society, rather than opting for the cheaper or faster option.  In line with this, our 2016 Awards have evolved to incorporate these demands and ways that will drive better practice of the financial industry. By looking deeper into companies, we are able to see who deserves a segment of this wealthy space, including that of subsequent generations.

Looking at Technology, it was difficult to decide whether to include marketing, customer care and training under the umbrella of this super sector, or to leave them in their separate categories. In the 21st century, it is clear that one cannot function without the other anymore - technology is an inherent factor across all functionalities of an organization.

To further evaluate the excellence of a company, this year we will be introducing a Public Engagement element to the competition. In order to engage directly with the customer, two new processes will be incorporated to the competition: Public/Peer Voting and Customer Feedback. To achieve this, we will be asking the social media followers of shortlisted finalists to share their opinions of their insurer. For certain award categories, a private message will be sent from BENCHMARK to Facebook followers, who have public profiles, asking them to rank the company they follow. This is conducted in conjunction with our social media partner, K-Matrix, who tracks companies based on their BPI (Brand Popularity Index) on 70 social media platforms.

The Awards continue to utilize the most stringent criteria, guarded by our panel of industry judges, to identify those companies which strive for best practice in the Insurance sector.
